I love photography, pretty much everything about it…..chasing toddlers to capture all of their little expressions, sleeping, snuggled, perfect newborns, and everyone’s unique and fun personalities in a family session. Let’s talk about that family session….it can be stressful, figuring our when you can fit it in, talking dad into being in the pictures too! (I know moms!), bribing your kids to be good and stay clean. It can be a little work getting the family ready for professional pictures, but it is oh so worth it. It’s worth it to have that canvas of your family up on the wall to enjoy and become a reference to how the kids looked in that exact moment and how they are changing. It’s just a wonderful memory captured for all to enjoy!
Last April I was asked to take a family’s portraits in a rushed manner because the mom had been battling cancer and she was declining. This family touched my heart, they had 3 young children and as a mom, my heart ached for this woman. I can’t image the pain she must have been going through emotionally and physically. Sadly a few months after this session, she lost her battle with cancer. As Spring is approaching and the trees are starting to blossom, my mind has drifted back to this sweet momma……and the incredible gift she has left for her family…..memories of her beautiful face. I am pretty positive that she didn’t feel like having pictures made with all that she was enduring, but I am also positive that these children will treasure these portraits forever. I am pleased to share these images and encourage everyone to make memories for your family with professional portraits. Because one day it becomes everything…..
